Twin

Lives have gone by and I haven’t heard from you…
Lives have gone by without a word from you…

But does it matter?
Does it matter that the world keeps turnin’ round?
Does it matter that there’s no silence in sound?
Does it matter that my heart feels empty
When all that we have had is plenty?

There’s a tree in my garden and it grows,
Apples blush, smiling where the sunlight flows,
Little blue flowers appear
after three-hundred-and-sixty-five days, it’s just another year…

Being born in a world with so many others,
Knowing that you’re not here,
You’re not here yet,
And I wait for you,
But maybe you’ll never come,
This time…

But does it matter?
Does it matter that the world keeps turnin’ round?
Does it matter that there’s no silence in sound?
Does it matter that my heart feels empty
When all that we have had is plenty?

The snow covers the earth with a little crest of white,
The water flows below it’s icy surface, shining in the moonlight…
Still, my heart is warm, because I remember,
There is no real December…

Even without you here,
Everywhere I am,
you are always near…
